High tides should not increase local flood risk

The current EA update, available here, says that the high tides due over the coming weekend should not affect local flooding, but may affect their pumping operations temporarily. At present the pumps already in place are running as often and for as long as required, but the river and estuary levels are key to this operation.

Water levels are now reducing steadily, helped by the drier weather, but most roads already blocked by flooding are still impassable.

The latest Community Update reiterates most of this information, but contains details of the local transport arrangements for flood victims.
