Only a few days now until the Solstice celebrations, including the burning of the stones - well, not real stones, but a scale model of Stonehenge, Gates open at 6pm and there is a full programme of events up to the lighting of the bonfire at 10.30. There will be refreshments, ale and cider, music, fire acts.
There is free parking, but please follow the instructions and signs and do not park on the roadside, to allow access in case of an emergency. If you live in the village, why not walk, if you can, rather than use a car, to relieve pressure on parking spaces.
Adult admission is £7.50 and children are only £2.50. There is a family ticket at £20. Admission after 10pm is reduced to £5 for adults and children go free. This is a major fundraising event for village charities, the Village Hall, Recreation Ground and St Andrews Church, so let's make it a real success.
We could still use a few more marshals to make sure the event passes off smoothly. If you can help, even for just a couple of hours, let Len White or Ivor Dixon know (see Village Hall page for contact details).
